WHAT WILL BE COVERED AT THE BOOTCAMP?
General Agenda*
Every day has time for human networking and additional topics that will be decided based on the needs of hosts and attendees.
Day Zero: The night before the bootcamp begins, we get everyone together for dinner, where we introduce ourselves to one another.
Day One: Day one starts with a cable crimping workshop to break the ice and get folks engaged and talking to one another. That’s followed by a Tribal Digital Equity workshop, an introduction to fiber optic technology, and a Tribal Broadband case study featuring bootcamp participants.
Day Two: One the second day, attendees will participate in a hand’s-on fiber workshop to get a sense of network-building basics and familiarize themselves with relevant equipment through stations. We’ll also run through another Tribal Broadband case study.
Day Three: On day three, we’ll talk wireless network-building basics, build a small-scale wireless network, and go over troubleshooting strategies. We’ll hear about a third Tribal Broadband case study and finish with a closing circle where everyone has the opportunity to share something from the week that they’re taking forward in this work.

do i need previous experience to attend a bootcamp?
You do not need to have previous experience in broadband to attend a Tribal Broadband Bootcamp. The bootcamp is for folks in Indian Country interested in or focused on building broadband networks to connect their communities.
how can I get financial support to attend a bootcamp?
If you are interested in attending one of the upcoming Tribal Broadband Bootcamps, please fill out the inquiry form below. Full travel and lodging support is available. All means during the bootcamp are covered. Feel free to reach out to us at info@tribalbroadbandbootcamp.org if you have any questions about the bootcamp or travel support. Cost should not be the reason anyone decides not to participate.
can i bring others to the bootcamp with me?
Yes. We recommend bringing a small team as many have reported this approach is helpful for team building. At previous bootcamps, people who worked on billing, who had no interest in technology, left wanting to climb towers and help on installations. Technicians left with an understanding of how the ISP must work as a business, or how federal policy has shaped connectivity in Indian Country.
when will the bootcamp come to my area?
Stay tuned, announcements about upcoming bootcamps will be posted on this website. We have in the past, and plan to continue hosting about six bootcamps a year. That said, anyone is welcome to request an invitation to a bootcamp, regardless of geographic location. Please get in touch with us to request financial assistance if cost of travel or attendance is prohibitive.
